Jude Obiukwu Duru
A Short Biography
Born in 1943 in the Igbo heartland of Nigeria, Engr. Professor Jude Obiukwu Duru (FNAHS, FNIAE, MNSE) traveled to the United States in the late 1960s to pursue his academic dreams amidst a turbulent time in his homeland. After completing his studies, he returned to Nigeria, where he joined the Federal University of Technology Owerri, quickly rising to the rank of professor and eventually becoming the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics. Throughout his career, he mentored countless students and contributed to significant academic work.
