Tribute From Obidiugwu Kenrik Duru

Our family is in deep mourning, but we know that our father lived a remarkable life, born to parents who never had the chance to learn how to read or write, and he advanced to get a PhD in Engineering from the University of Maryland. I will be eternally grateful for his unconditional love for all of his children, his laugh and how he made me laugh, and his high expectations for the next generation of us. He lifted an entire family on his shoulders – there are dozens of Durus in the US and Nigeria who will be forever grateful. He has come full circle and is with God now, and may he rest in peace in the village where his life began.
