Tribute From Nwamaegwu Jeremi Duru
Thank you, Dad, for all that you taught me and for the good times and laughs we shared. It is rare that a day goes by that I don’t think about a phrase you used to use or a lesson you taught me or something you found interesting. When I am working hard at something and feeling that maybe I have not achieved enough, I hear you in my ear saying “do your best and leave the rest.” When my son misbehaves and I consider how I should react, I always remember the conversation about discipline that we had when I was a new father and you were a new grandfather – a conversation I will never forget and will always cherish. When I watch sports, I remember how much you loved sports and how much I loved sitting with you watching them. Each day, I realize more and more how much you are a part of me. I love you, Dad. And I miss you.
Your son,
Nwamaegwu Jeremi Duru
